Before Shaklee Always an enthusiastic open minded, creative person, I have also surmounted many challenges. Since childhood incidents with pneumonia and hepatitis (after being and exchange student in India), I had struggled with chronic sinus and other infections, frequent colds, dry skin on my face and hands that was often painful, poor circulation, headaches, post nasal drip, and horrendous crippling migraines often lasting for days. Through college, I was also very vulnerable to infections but no one could figure out why, because it seemed I was following traditional guidelines and eating a mostly healthy diet with lots of veggies! While dealing with all these conditions, I was also being routinely exposed to toxic chemicals at my full time job as a research chemist for a major oil company. Chronic and often severe muscle and joint pain and chronic pain, eventually earned the title “fibromyalgia” and was added to my lifetime label of “ADD.”
Growing up as a collection of labels and numbers that others analyzed -or judged- but rarely helped, did not support radiant health or self esteem. Finally, the physical ailments, coupled with chronic stress of a failing marriage, depression, anxiety, and eventually panic attacks became my new norm, post-college. The traditional medications given me for these myriad conditions served only to temporarily suppress or aggravate symptoms, and often created new ones due to side effects, and incompatibility and interaction issues, as no one in the mess of doctors I was paying so much money too -even after that ever-revered insurance- monitored or even discussed “the big picture” (the blessing of the holistic approach to medicine I now subscribe whole heartedly to!).
After Shaklee Thank God, in the 80’s in the height of all of this, a fellow chemist friend, June, reached out to me and shared a little sample of green cleaner, because she knew I was an environmentalist. That simple act has changed my life -my health and wealth situation- forever! Her “shocking health and safety facts you need to know” presentation was just common sense and so I switched to Basic H (now called Get Clean), and all the Shaklee cleaners (now our Get Clean Starter Kit).
Gradually, she introduced me to the top quality vitamins that really work, and added them and the shakes, with big results: more energy, better focus, better health.
Over time, I added our basic personal care products, then our incredible skin care line Youth too. I did this because so many of my symptoms WENT AWAY! YEAH!

Shaklee just makes sense to me: buying top quality necessities from “my own store” instead of what I came to see as lesser quality products from big chain stores. Now I am free of those symptoms, fibromyalgia, infections, migraines, arthritis, depression. In my 40’s, I discovered my passions for salsa dancing and sailboat racing, and am basically the first dancer and athlete in my family line! I rarely get sick, even though I work, dance, race boats, play long hours, and am often around sick kids in my musical performance work. People often remark how my facial skin and hair are so radiant and soft and that I don’t look my age…what woman doesn’t like to hear that these days?! I have been free of the tangled web of prescription drugs since 1992! If I start to feel unwell, I use increased doses of my Shaklee vitamins, healthy often raw vegan diet, exercise and homeopathy to prevent it. Being freed from limiting frustrating ailments by these new habits & resources, my depression has improved without drugs, in spite of life’s ups and downs, and I am much freer to enjoy life as God intended!

When I realized all I had to do was switch brands and teach others to switch brands it seemed so logical and simple. When I shifted from user to sharer to trainer, I realized I had found the perfect career! And during the COVID19 pandemic, my Plan B became my Plan A.

As a “handy gal” I seem to be always fixing up my 120 yr. old house (but I would really rather be using those skills to optimize a sailboat…and live in the tropics…want to join me?).
